Start a Morning Routine (Part 2)

What are you doing after you drink your warm water with lemon? We personally like to let the body "digest" it for a little bit before eating breakfast. If you're the type who likes to skip breakfast, make it one of your New Year's resolutions to break that habit! Start with something little if you don't feel hungry - try a protein shake (at room temperature) or a hard-boiled egg - and then work your way up to a full meal. Feeding the body in the morning gives it the energy to get you through to lunch, which is especially important because it hasn't had any nourishment in the hours that you'd been sleeping.


The biggest caveat here is to choose warming foods for breakfast, for the same reasons we mentioned with water. The idea is to gently get the digestive system fired up for the day, and cold food and beverages will make it feel just like you would if someone dumped ice water over your head!
